Wayward Brewing Co. | Annandale | Craft Beer, Popcorn and iKegger Growler Filling

Are you in Sydney, love good beer, free popcorn and a down to ( /under the) earth, unpretentious atmosphere? Then this is the venue for you!

The fairly new to the scene Wayward Brewery (previously they were gypsy brewing out of Illawarra Brewery) is coming ahead in leaps and bounds. They have already expanded their floorplan twice! Luckily they have huge bricked up wine cellars to the rear of the property and expanding literally just means swinging a sledge hammer at the rear wall to open up another awesome cave like room.

They have 9 taps of their own beer on which combines some quality mainstays with some really out there experimental beers. There is also 3 taps of guest beers, mainly from other Sydney craft breweries. Of their own beer on tap for this trip The Fat Charmer was my personal pick, a BIG (8%) Double India Red Ale that will knock your socks off or at the very least have you heading out to one of the food trucks to grab something to eat before you attempt another pint of it. If not you can always grab a bowl of free popcorn to help keep your thirst up!

For a more sessionable brew try the FUSAMI Victory, which probably has the best name in beer history but I'll leave that to the boys to tell you about... Another great session beer is the Keller Instinct which I just filled a double growler of to take to my father's 60th Birthday where it went down a treat, along with a lot of love for my iKegger Johnson mini keg and tap system. Wayward fills growlers for $25 ($10 less than bar price) if you want to take some of their delicious beers home.

The bar is open from 4pm to 10pm on Thurs and Friday, 12pm to 10pm Saturday and 12pm till 8pm Sunday.

There are usually food trucks parked outside on Fri to Sun and pizza is available delivered to your table after 5pm everyday.

You can also join a tour of the brewery floor on Saturday at 2pm and 4pm (I think... you better get there at midday just to be sure)

All in all this place is fantastic and only set to get better.
