Before you buy

Can I fill the keg from bottles and cans?

Absolutely!

A great way to reduce the weight and size of a case of beer is to pour it into our mini kegs. You can fit 15 x 330ml stubbies into a 5L keg and it'll weigh less, take up less space and stay cold for 10 hours or more if it's an insulated keg. No need for an esky and ice at all!

Same goes for any other drink you might want to pour in, softdrink, kombucha, rum and coke, gin and tonic etc.

How long will beer last in an iKegger?

The short answer: Between 48 hours and 3 years depending on how you fill it.

The longer answer: The more care you take to ensure there is no contamination of your precious beer while filling, the longer it will last. Bacteria and oxygen are the biggest problems so if you ensure there is no bacteria in your keg or filling equipment and there is no contact with air while you are filling the keg, it is as if the beer never left the brewery. It will last as long as it would have there in perfect condition, as stout for example will potentially get better and better with age, whereas a hoppy IPA will lose some of its aroma over time.

If you just quickly pour some bottle or cans into an unsanitised keg without taking any care not to splash and mix the beer with oxygen while doing it, your beer will be good for a weekend.

If you sanitise your keg, flush the oxygen out with CO2, and then fill using our automated keg filler from a brewery, kegerator or homebrew system with no oxygen contact you beer will be fresh and carbonated till you finish the keg.,

Only pouring beer or cider? The Beer kit has everything. For espresso martinis and creamy cocktails, choose the Cocktail kit. For nitro cold brew, the Coffee kit. Want to try a bit of everything, or buying a gift? The Any drink bundle includes every gas plus the keg stand, drip tray and SodaStream adapter. Already have gas? Keg & tap is the base system.

Which keg size should I get?

The 5L insulated is by far our most popular for beer. For cocktails and coffee, the 2L insulated is the favourite. Each litre holds about 3 stubbies, 4 glasses of nitro coffee or G&T, or 8 espresso martinis.

Which gas do I need for my drink?

CO₂ for fizzy drinks like beer, cider, soda, kombucha and G&T. Nitrous oxide for creamy, shaken-style drinks like espresso martinis and whisky sours. Nitrogen for nitro cold brew and stout. The same tap pours them all.

Will it fit in my fridge?

You can pour with the keg lying down, so there's no need to take out fridge shelves. The 5L insulated keg is 17.5cm wide and 36cm high with the cap. The tap adds 5 to 7cm.

Can I return it?

Yes. Returns are accepted within 30 days for change of mind. Email info@ikegger.com and we'll send a return label (its cost comes off your refund). There's no restocking fee for unused items.

What's the warranty?

All iKegger mini kegs have a 5-year warranty. The tap system, regulator and everything else we sell has a 1-year warranty. We refund or replace.

When will it arrive?

We pack and dispatch from Sydney within 24 hours. Couriers don't collect on weekends, so orders after midday Friday go out on Monday. For Christmas, order by 21 December on the east coast and 14 December for the rest of Australia.
