We include the plastic disconnects as standard so our packages are as affordable as possible and 9 times out of 10 they will be perfectly adequate, they just look a little clunkier and mean that the tap is at an odd angle on the liquid post.
However, being made of plastic they are more susceptible to damage and so we have the steel ones which are backed by a 5-year warranty!
These are professional bar quality fittings and are used at many craft beer bars around Australia.
Available in gas (white) or liquid (black) or as a pair.
If you just want the tap to be horizontal on any of our kegs you can just use the liquid one.
If using with another steel connection for instance the tap shank adapter or a barb and nut it is a good idea to use a seal in between. This is on the drop-down options as a spare too but is included if you buy a barb and nut disconnect.
The straight connector allows you to lie the keg down in the fridge with the tap attached! The price is only for the straight MFL thread to replace the right-angle thread on the disconnect. We have these custom-made and they need to be purchased separately from the disconnect.
Please Note: Steel disconnects will need some lubricant to make attaching and detaching easier. You should also be aware that some back and forth movement on the post is normal when using a tap with a steel disconnect.
These fittings replace the lactic versions which kept splitting and spilling beer all over my Kegerator. They would split as I sprayed San on them and apparently rhat breaks down plastic, causing the splits.
Steel Ball Lock disconnects are very robust.
As always super fast delivery. The stainless steel disconnects are the perfect solution for my mobile kegerator build
