The iKegger crew, like most of us, have had close family affected by the Big C and so we do regular raffles to support the Cancer Council of Australia. They do an incredible job of raising funds for researchers looking for ways to prevent and treat cancer in all forms. We have met many of the dedicated people involved, both from the Cancer Council and the researchers who have come to present thier discoveries and we really believe that this is one of the best ways individuals can contribute to a cancer free future.
By raising a minimum of $5000 for the Cancer Council, iKegger gets the chance to take part in the Shitbox Rally. We purchase a car worth less than $1000, that can't be 4WD or AWD, and drive it across some of the most remote and hectic roads in Australia. The idea is that by team work and co-operation we get all the 200 odd cars to the finish line where they get auctioned off. That money also goes to the Cancer Council.
In total iKegger has raised more than $50,000 by doing this over 4 rallies so far, we hope to raise another $10k at least this time!
There are 200 tickets available and the draw will happen as soon as those sell out. This takes from a few days to about 2 weeks depending on speed of ticket sales. We use a randomised number generator to do the draw and a video of it is produced to show that it is impartial and completely random.
All proceeds (ticket sales minus cost price of prize, bank fees and GST on sales) are donated to the Cancer Council via our Shitbox Rally fundraising page.
